Gift To Life and Love - workshop imageTHE ENNEAGRAM'S GIFT TO LIFE AND LOVE

An Introduction to the Enneagram 3-Hour Program, Interwoven with its Contribution to Vital Relationships

David Daniels, M.D. and Susan Olesek, B.A.

What is the Enneagram system of nine personality styles all about? Why is the Enneagram found everywhere on our planet regardless of race, religion, nationality, literacy? What makes us react so habitually? Keeps us making the same mistakes? Causes us to react negatively? How does the Enneagram affect our relationships? Remember, our vital relationships are the foundation upon which we thrive or wither. What makes for healthy relationships? How can the Enneagram transform our most important relationships? How can we deepen and heal these relationships?

In this special program, we will interweave both a vivid introduction to the system with the vital ways the Enneagram understandings of type can be applied powerfully to heal, develop, and strengthen our vital relationships. It is designed for all who want to discover their Enneagram type, know themselves better, and deepen and enhance their primary relationships, whether these are partners, family members, close work associates, significant friendships, or practitioners working with relationship issues.

For each type we will explore the fundamentals of the nine personality structures, our type-based patterns, and their effect on relationships, key issues and vulnerabilities, personal reactivity, acceptance, and change, manifesting the essential qualities, and specific tasks for personal development.

The format includes short lecture, panels, guided interactions, inner practices, a “The Tour of the Types”, practical exercises, panels, and discussion. You will have the opportunity to determine your type, if you don’t already know it.

Understanding Subtype through PicturesUNDERSTANDING INSTINCTS

Workshop

Deepen your Enneagram knowledge through this fundamental aspect of Enneagram teaching.

The instinctual variants, also referred to as "subtypes", are behaviors which are based upon three primary instincts: the Self-Preservation Instinct, the Social Instinct, and the Sexual Instinct. We need to have all three of these instincts to survive; however, often the area where we have struggled most will inadvertently become the area in which we invest most of our energy. Instinctual behaviors are relevant because they greatly affect our relationships. In fact, some people report having much more in common with people who share the same primary instinct than they do with people who share the same personality Type. Understanding our instincts and how they relate to the emotional Passions is a significant step in deepening your Enneagram study.

Evening Class

Take a deep breath, unearth your personality, allowing the seeds of your true nature to be released and take root.

Why do we do the things that we do?

Do you ever catch yourself thinking or doing the same things over and over, yet wishing you could figure out a better way? Do you try to "help" your partner see things more clearly? Our own behavior can make us nuts, but we tend to feel that life would be easier if others saw things more like we do. The Enneagram suggests there are nine points of view, personalities, called "types." Once you find your territory through this insightful system, a huge amount of personal information becomes available to you.

In this revealing workshop, we will uncover why people get stuck in habitual patterns, and most importantly, the way out of our frustrating, self-imposed traps. It is designed for those who want to bring more of themselves to their primary relationships, and to the ways they show up in the world. Specifically, we will:

• Describe the nine personality types, including strengths and blind spots

• Identify your type, along with key issues and blessings

• Introduce proven practices for managing our reactions to stress, conflict, and disappointment

You will emerge from this experience with a sound understanding of the Enneagram, a deeper appreciation for what drives us to behave as we do, and will have gained invaluable tools to better navigate the confines of your own personality.

TWO-DAY PROGRAM

Going deeper in the Enneagram, a system that offers a profound pathway to self-awareness...

Why do we react the way we do?

In these two back-to-back sessions, we will introduce all nine Enneagram types in detail including the patterns of attention, avoidance and identification, the defense mechanisms, emotional passions, and mental fixations.

Participants will come away with a thorough understanding of how the Enneagram system works and will gain a more compassionate awareness for why we react the way we do. When we realize our personalities all started as survival strategies, we can see that many of those strategies no longer serve us.

This course of study offers an insightful exploration into why our habits of mind persist. Program includes practical, proven attention practices to help us move out of the very common traps of personality.

A Reprieve from the Pace of Parenting to Reflect on Who You Really Are | Give yourself the rare gift of time to consider how your personality affects the way you perceive everything and everyone around you...

During this carefully focused day of Enneagram facilitation you will begin to understand yourself and those you care about with astonishing clarity and a refreshing compassion. Specifically, you will:

Specifically, we will:

blind spots of each.

• Develop self-observation skills and practices for managing reactions to stressful triggers

• Establish a reference for partnering and parenting from a place of presence and understanding
using the wisdom of the Enneagram system

I Know My Type, Now What?

Intro to the Enneagram, Part II | Mini-Workshop

Now that you know your type, what’s next? What does one do with the Enneagram? After taking a tour of all nine types, participants are ready to both witness and take part in panel interviews. While I hold the space for teaching to the strengths and challenges inherent in each personality type, the Narrative Tradition allows people to be the expert in their own points of view during panel interviews. The course is specifically designed to solidify basic understanding of the Enneagram and look deeper into the emotional passions, mental fixations, defense mechanisms and other specific aspects of personality.
